One of TV's greatest moments: Sonny and Cher
December 4, 2006
I came accross this browsing around YouTube. It's Sonny and Cher singing "I got you Babe" impromptu on the David Letteman Show. I grew up watching the The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. When they sang together on Letterman it was all over the news the next day, but I missed it. My friends all saw it. Or at least they claim they did. I, however, missed the moment, but thanks to YouTube or more aptly Tim Berners-Lee I got he chance to finally see it 20 years later.
A great TV moment. Cher's voice has incredible resonance. No lip-syncing here, and near the end of the song you are witness to the tenderness and affection between the two stars. Those who know me, know I pay famous people little regard, but I think this is what true celebrity used to be.
