Tony Newton Nails It

I haven't been writing much, but Tony Newton has. We just hired Tony to offer insight on the Vancouver music scene and music in general, and in his first article he has gone to town and has given impassioned and insightful commentary on today's music industry.

The Major labels cannot control the content of the internet--not the way it controls TV or radio; dictating who’s who and what’s what. The consumer can research their own interests and tastes through like minded community members. We are more intelligent than have been given credit. Instead of being treated like zombies, with only a taste for the fluffiest of brains--with mediocre brands being crammed down our less than eager throats, we will decide our own tastes.
