How do you manage your time.....

September 27, 2005

I avidly read about 20-30 blogs a day, but there are three which amaze me: Marc Canter, Roland Tanglao, and Chris Anderson. These guys run businesses - they are where the buck stops. They are managing people, clients, projects, and finances. Yet, they attend more conferences in a year than I am sure I could in 10, AND they blog prolifically. I mean these guys write close to 3 times a week at a minimum, and there is always something of value to read. OK, I read other bloggers who are very prolific as well (even more so) like: Bob Lefstez, Chris Pirillo, and Stephen Downes, but these guys for the most part are paid to blog.

I run a business, have a young family, attend 2 maybe 3 conferences a year, and I try haphazardly to write a blog. I can't keep up. Yet Marc, Chris, and Roland breeze off a blog a day.

How..... how do you do it? Hell I'm writing this blog at 7:30pm. I should be home playing with my son. I am more than a little in awe!

How do you manage your time.....

Running the magazine and going to conferences are pretty easy to harmonize with blogging, since they tend to generate ideas and don't require much writing on their own. It's actually the book (which competes with the blog for writing time) and four small kids that are the toughest to manage around. --Great management team that can handle a lot of the day-to-day stuff --Very understanding/supportive wife --No life outside of family and work

How do you manage your time.....

Sure, I'd love to put something together for Northern Voice. If I don't get at least 7-8 hours of sleep at night I am useless. So with a young son, I think I must have been close to useless for the whole year so far.

How do you manage your time.....

oh and by the way, love to have you apply to speak at Northern Voice, i am sure you can come up with something interesting!
